Overcoming Panic Attacks Step #1 - Realize What It Actually IS
When an attack is about to happen, it is advisable that you realize what this anxiety is actually about.
It does not matter how you frightened you feel, bewildered, unreal or trapped...
This panic attack is nothing more than an exaggeration of the normal body reacts to stress.
And just because you are experiencing this sensation, does not mean that you are sick. And it is important to remember that these feelings are just unpleasant and can be frightening. BUT, it is not dangerous. It won't harm you in any way.

Overcoming Panic Attacks Step #2 - Don't Run
Let panic come. You heard me... Let them come. They have been in charge of you for long enough. It is time you face them.

Don't Run.

Find a quiet place.And when the panic builds up, take deep breaths, and as you exhale, let it go. Don't fight the feeling of panic. Accept it and let it go.
It is important to remember that you don't run. Find a quite place. Don't run off to you car and run home. Face it, accept it, deal with it. and let it go.

Overcoming Panic Attacks Step #3 - Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself
I know that it is easy to indulge in self pity in the state of panic and make others feel sorry for you. STOP. Believe in yourself is the only way out of this. Stop saying, "Why me?"
Just accept what is happening to you. If you are able to do this, what you most fear will certainly will not happen.
It is important to take control of you body and emotion. Stop thinking that something bad will happen and you need to get out. Take deep breaths and tell your self that you are not going to faint, lose control or die.

Overcoming Panic Attacks Step #4 - Positive Thoughts Go a Long Way
Now that you are staying in one place and you are not running, start implementing positive thoughts in your mind. Focus and what makes you happy. At this phase, other have found strength to overcome panic, and when you achieve that by slowly putting in happy thoughts, you will soon realize that panic is slowly letting you go.
At this time it is a perfect place to conquer over panic. Make yourself think, even when you are in a quite place, alone with panic, you are victorious! And one of these days you WILL eventually bring panic to the ground! Think about how good progress you have done. You are in control of the situation.

Overcoming Panic Attacks Step #5 - Smile, It's All Over
When panic is beginning to subside, distract yourself from what you feel and look around the people around you. They are with you, NOT against you.

When it finally subsides, let your body loose and take deep breaths, and go on with your day. Don't forget to smile, because you have done an excellent job in overcoming panic attacks.

Remember, each time you overcome panic attacks and anxiety, you reduce your fear.
